Mark White / Virgin Atlantic

I have always been scared of the water and a non swimmer but I needed to learn to swim in order to complete my wet drill exams with Virgin Atlantic.

I took up a 3 week intensive swimming course with Alex at Confidence Academy of Swimming and at the end of it my confidence had gratefully improved .

By the end I was able to swim 25 meters unaided and to dive 2.4 meters to the bottom of the pool and retrieve items.

All this after an hour a day for 3 weeks.

I went on to pass my wet drill exams an take the opportunity to swim when I have time off around the world.

Any one wanting to learn to swim either for work or just for pleasure then please contact Confidence Academy of Swimming.

Hi, my name is Rob and I have a disability called cerebral palsy which for me affects mainly my right side, both hand and leg.

Having had a fear of water since I was young, I was a bit apprehensive about going back to the water after almost 40 years.

I decided having recently retired to take the plunge (as it were!) and look around for some private lessons.

I found the Confidence Academy of Swimming web site on the internet and gave them a ring.

From the initial phone call I was made welcome and put at ease by the friendly and helpful staff giving me the confidence to approach the water again without fear or trepidation.

I booked an initial five lessons and my instructor  built up my confidence from the off and by the end of the fifth lesson I felt so pleased with my progress that I have decided to book up more lessons.

I would recommend the academy to anyone wishing to take up swimming for the very first time (young or old) or you simply want to achieve a better standard in the water.

Thank you to Confidence Academy of Swimming who taught my two boys to enjoy swimming and to be confident in the water..  They both look forward to their lesson each week which is both structured and fun.  They can both swim with great confidence (400m- at the age of 8) and this is all due to Confidence Academy of Swimming. We highly recommend them - they are a great team of teachers.

My daughter has been having lessons with Sam for a couple of months now and has loved every one. We started her in group lessons and i cannot express how happy we are to have changed to 1 to 1 as she has progressed so much faster.

She loves her lessons not only because Sam always greets her with a lovely smile and is very positive throughout the lesson, but also because he is always right there with her so she feels very safe even when out of her depth. Having Sam in the water also means that he is able to show her exactly what to do rather than the group lessons which are through explanation, he teaches by example which i think is extremely important at this age.

Thanks for making such a valuable life skill a pleasure to learn.
